Perennial herb, 3-7’ tall, 1-2’ wide. Summer deciduous. Scarlet red flowers during spring and early summer. A very showy plant when in bloom, good for the back of a bed or among low chaparral shrubs. Due to its height and thin stem it may need support when in bloom. Withold water during summer dormancy.
