An upright, deciduous tree 80’H, living to 250 years; young trees are fast growing, slowing down in maturity. Usually found in riparian corridors within forest, woodland, chaparral, or grassland, they prefer moderate watering. Pinnately compound leaves; inconspicuous flowers and a samara fruit not usually produced until the tree reaches 20-30 years of age
