Grass-like, 1-3’H. Normally grows in wet locations, but can be tolerant of summer drought and garden conditions. Narrow, erect, thin, gray-green bunches of stems arise from a central clump. Leaves appear as brown sheaths around the base of the stems. Numerous flower clusters sprouts from the side of the stem rather than its tip.
