A deciduous shrub growing to 20’ tall and 30’ wide with hollow twigs. Trumpet shaped flowers are orange-yellow produced in whorls above the disk-leaf on the ends of shoots. The fruit is a translucent orange-red berries are edible either raw or cooked, but are not a common food.
