A perennial growing 2-4’H and 1-3’W. Wedge-shaped light-green leaves and very small flowers are red to maroon and so small that they are easy to miss but bees, small wasps and hummingbirds are extremely attracted to them. A host plant for the Chalcedon Checkerspot and Common Buckeye butterflies. 
In the garden, plant in the back of a perennial border where the tall stems won’t block out shorter perennials, and where it can blend in when not in flower. be grown in a pot. Good for containers.
